Hi, you need to upload your images to a host site such as www.photobucket.com (there are plenty of others around but be sure they allow hot linking.)
Then copy the URL for the photo. Click on the Img tag above paste your URL and click on the Img tag again (in Photobucket clicking on the bottom option will give you the comlete URL with message board tags so you just paste it.).
You should end up with something that looks like this :
Check it has worked by clicking on Preview below.
Good Luck!

Thanks very much.
Boy what a bunch of messing around. Why doesn't this site have a simple image upload program ?

Uploading an image uses bandwidth. Hotlinking doesn't as the photo is still on Photobucket (or wherever else) and the link just points to it.Boy what a bunch of messing around. Why doesn't this site have a simple image upload program ?
phpBB3 upgrade will enable actual uploading into a forum like this one, when it's available.

An alternative is to have a gallery on the forum. I have one on my forum - but that is a very small forum so I can get away with it, but again it's a question of bandwidth. Personally I have no problem with hotlinking. I share photos with F&F through Photobucket too. If you have your own website you can hotlink from that usually.

Gywn.
I finally did it using Photo Bucket.
9 test images now on the Photo section.
Still a pain in the neck. One image ok, but multiple at one at a time !!!!
Unless there is another way ?
Thanks for your help.

If you tick the "entry into quarterly competition" box the image won't appear until the competition has been judged. Could this be the problem?

Thanks, I did tick this box so this is now solved. However if I want to upload pictures to my portfolio do I use the same method - without any competition entry ticked? Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

I use an iMac and normally can drag and drop files, appears to be impossible on this site. Or maybe upload images, don't see anyway to do that either.
Thanks, RG.
