Postage times from USA

Does anyone know how long a package takes to come to the UK from the USA?

I recently ordered a small glass protector screen which came from the USA and it took around 10 days from posting.

I didn't notice what service / rate they had used though.

10 to 15 days is normal, but it can be a bit more or less. Sometimes it depends on where in the US it is coming from.

Thanks guys, although I live in Spain I'm waiting for a K20d from a private seller who is sending to the UK (PayPal Address) and he sent it on the 11th March so I'm still waiting

It can vary from 5 days or so to a very long time if things go wrong. The longest I have experienced where the parcel did actually arrive was something like 20 days.

The worst place to send to seems to be Italy and some sellers on eBay actually refuse to send there at all.

I'm still waiting for a parcel from the US too. I ordered it on the 2nd March and still no sign of it. I've agreed with the seller to give it until Friday then it will be declared lost an I'll get my money back. It's only a book so nothing too disastrous to lose.

The reason being Customs open all parcels as they arrive, they have been doing it for a year now.

Depends on service used, destination and place of origin.

Airmail 'priority' typically takes 3-6 days.

Airmail 'standard' typically takes 6-10 days.

Surface mail takes 2-4 WEEKS....

Thanks all, I notified the seller yesterday and he said I should have had it by now, I said I'll give it another week and I'll let him know what happens.

It's the Bin Laden effect. To add insult to injury, it seems to cost an arm and a leg to send things from the US.

My book finally arrived on Saturday, so there is still hope!

It was delivered by a private mail company. They are a right pain here in NL as they only seems to deliver when it suits them not on a regular basis. A lot of post from the UK seems to be handled by them nowadays too - Private Eye tends to be late, inspite of us paying for airmail/priority for it. We complain and for a while it arrives in an envelope and on time then it goes back to plastic bags and being late. Clearly the Royal Mail has different contract for different types of mail.
It's going to get worse here too, from tomorrow when the private companies can also deliver normal letter post. End of rant

Well now do I have a story all I will say is my package is in Glasgow Central Post office awaiting Customs payment which I don't know yet, I will give you the full story when I find out.

The mind boggles as to why it is in Glasgow for customs payment when you live in Spain - surely the Spanish customs would levy any duties on it, not the British - or was it sent to a UK address?

Yes it was sent to my UK paypal address cause the guy was a bit funny sending it to Spain and I can assure you the Spanish customs are a nightmare, I will give you the full story when I find out the full cost: Jack.
