I like both versions. The vignette applied to the negative version works really well in removing unwanted background clutter (would a similar application of a vignette fading to white lift the colour version?), The negative version also really accentuates the patterns in the cloth.

Thanks, Stephen for your comments. The colour version is an environmental portrait, hence I did not consider vignetting to remove the clutter. The negative version is an attempt at creative photography. I converted colour into b/w and inverted it. Though its negative, the eyes are positive. In this version all light portions turned dark and increasing contrast they became almost black- no vignetting .
