The last one conveys the awful feeling of what happened there.

I think number 1 and 4 would be even more powerful in B & W

Brian - please tell me that you took a shot of the entrance gate? When I visited Auschwitz years ago, just looking at the entrance sent cold shivers down my spine! The "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign is a powerfully iconic picture to have in anybody's collection.

Wasn't the sign stolen?

It was nicked in 2009, but was found a few weeks later, cut into 3 sections, prior to being sold to a Nazi sympathiser. I'd imagine that metalworkers would have been given the task of repairing it, before being replaced at the entrance.

The sign at Dachau most certainly has that effect.

Very powerful photos. The weather adds to the power of them.

I found my visit to Kamp Amersfoort emotional and disturbing. I cannot imagine what it must be like to visit Auschwitz.

The last image is a chilling and emotional take on the subject. I'm not sure how I'd cope with photographing a subject like this, but you've done very well.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Well captured set

It is a place I would like to visit but would probably want to leave quickly as well

I would recommend a visit to everyone as its a very powerful and thought provoking place, when you arrive and see the view below its very emotional.
