please help on RAW

i have a k-m, and i use photoshop cs3, but i couldnt menage to open RAW files on photoshop cs3 or couldnt find any program to edit RAW image file,
i got DNG camera RAW plug-ins and camera RAW 5.3 updater, and they didn't work.
i don't know what else to do.

I use Elements and I just need to open the DNG file in the photo editor to get the raw converter to open.

Are you using DNG or PEF ?

For a basic program, you could try the software that came with the camera to do some processing and convert RAW to JPEG or TIFF, or for more sophistication, download Silkypix Developer Studio (free trial available).

I expect there are other compatible programs too. Just look through the documentation on their websites to see what cameras are supported. Try RawTherapee (free), LightRoom, Bibble, etc.

Also get a copy (free) of AdobeDNG converter in case the DNG format is supported a certain program that you would like to use that doesn't support PEF or Pentax-camera-generated DNG. This converts PEF to a supposedly-universaly-supported DNG or Compressed DNG. Compressed DNG files are smaller than PEF, by the way.

Note the K-m is also known as K2000.

Adobe Camera RAW from version 4.6 on supports K-m RAW files. Are you sure you installed the updates correctly?

The K-M is supported by ACR version 4.6 and up.
Version 5 of ACR is only for CS4 so you need to download version 4.6 link
