Playing with Elements

I didn't mean to suggest there was anything wrong with using the full armoury of manipulations we have at our disposal. I just always call out the suggestion that 'looking like a painting' is in some way praise as if paintings are of greater value than photographs.

I read an interesting review of a painting in the Independent one Friday that explained one difference between painting and photography is that painters can cheat. They leave things out, show the physically impossible etc. Traditionally that's been harder for photographers but these days it's a whole lot easier to lose an inconvenient skin blemish, person, make someone look slimmer, more curvaceous etc.

There was no intended slight to anyone just my usual comment in that situation.

If it's fun, have at it. I enjoyed seeing it.

That has summed up this thread for me.I wish I was as succinct.

I just wanted to see what Elements can do. It is a very powerful tool, and I use only a small amount of it. I'm not saying the effect is good or bad. It was an experiment.
Yes, thats the way I took it

Photo, digi-art and painting are all different.
Everyone has got its value. And to be good at any of these, you need to have skills and talent.

I personaly am fond of photo and also art (actualy most of all pastels and coal). Talent is another question.... I wish I had more
It does not mean, that I refuse seeing sth nice in digi art.

If I told that the pic made me wishing to take a brush .... NB ! Brush not Elements ! then I ment it.
