First attempt using the pixel shift feature in the K-70. Can see a little white fringing (over sharpening) and am wodering if better effects could be had with straight forward HDR. Obviously will try different shots and subjects and methods.

Stick with it Stan Have you seen this page...

http://redredphoto.com/blog/equipment/pentax-k-1-review-pixel-shift/

Photographing an EMPTY beer bottle label should show how good it is.

I never use FULL bottles because it might get broke and the valuable contents get lost

I haven't got a camera that does PS yet. The Pentax software is supposed to be the best at handling PS.

Some inspiring images there Algi. Thanks for the link. I also never use full bottles in fact my next project may be complicated by the fact I need 10 green bottles.

Congratulations on the new K70, Stan - you must be one of the first to get one ?
Have fun playing with all those new options.

However, only 2 weeks ago you said a new camera was out of the question !
c'est la vie !

All the best

It's a very intense image .... That's the first word to came to mind! Very deep contrast and that red is ... well, full bodied! Looks like the technique is full of promise.

Out of interest, can the K70 do mirror up with remote control? That's how I always trip the shutter when using a tripod.

Ha Ha I know Peter but I had a couple of things to trade in but still a long way from a K-1 and lenses to fit so decided on the K-70, lighter than the K-3II but with a few of the function and the articulating screen.

Thanks for the comments Nigel. As far as I know its got those functions, I usually use the 2 second timer when using a tripod which also turns off the SR. The camera itself is physically like the K-S2 but with a couple more bells and whistles. Think the spare batteries are going to be used often in the Pixel Shift mode as it seemed to use up the power. Will be going out on Saturday for the day so hopefully will give it a good run. Bedtime reading is the manual which with my etesight is a bit of a slog. Will post some more images soon. Must hunt out the remote controls I have and try them if possible

Thanks Stan, that new camera sure packs a punch in the number of goodies it offers. I think personally I would miss the grip option too much , so I have avoided going for one of these new mid-range offerings. I'll have to wait a long time to afford a K3 or K1 with grip. I hope your remotes work ....I really like using them as you can pick your exact moment. Remember to hold your breath just as you squeeze the button

Nigel, I think no BG is one thing I miss but the general decrease in size and weight makes up for that and there is a battery guage. I got a box from 7dayshop which was for another type of battery but easily modified and 2 x 109's fit quite snuggly. I hold my breathe every time I take a photo hoping it turns out as good as the one in my head

yes, and I think I read somewhere that crossing your fingers on the other hand simultaneously will improve things as well!
