I have the PS & Lightroom bundle subscription, it works for me because I use two high end Macs one of which is solely dedicated to Final Cut Pro and Logic X taking care of my video & audio production. The Premiere (video editing) & PS Elements bundle seems good value, bear in mind that PS Elements is an extremely weak version of the CC monthly bundle of PS CC.
Saying that, unless you are a long term user of the full version of PS you won't see what you are missing and maye quite happy with the basics (compared to PS CC).
After using PS Elements for a while and seeing BOTH the benefits & limitations it brings to your image manipulation you may feel you should have gone for CC PS & Lightroom, especially if video is not that important to you.
You will also need a pretty fast machine with above average Graphics Capability to take care of the more sophisticated rendering processes available using PS CC.
If you plan making money from your studio you owe it to yourself & your clients to have the best possible software for your particular needs.

Folks,
I currently use Adobe Lightroom 4 boxed version but am keen to start exploring the possibilities of Photoshop and so have been reviewing what to buy. I'm in the process of setting up a dedicated room in the house as a portrait studio.
The two options I am considering are:
Photoshop CC plus Lightroom for £8.78 a month (think the price doubles after the first year)
Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere elements boxed bundle £62.99 on Amazon.
Just wondering if anyone has any views on which is the best deal?
thanks,
Saxon

I have the full CC package although to be honest much of it I will never use. I still occasionally use an old version of PSE for some things. Premiere is pretty awful and it always amazes me that it comes from the makers of PS. Sony Vegas is far superior IMO.
I would say that if you really want Premiere then go for the boxed set, but if not go for the subscription version and buy Sony Vegas for video

Why not try out the subscription and see which software you use.
I am currently subscribed to the £8.79 monthly package purely because of the iPad app. To be able to sort through over 400 images whilst sat on the sofa and syncing to my macbook whilst watching tv is simply a no brainer for me.

Personally, I would go for a boxed version. It can sometimes be weeks or months between using it whilst having an Internet connection. I need control and not to be controlled.

I use the £8.78 subscription of CC, already had Lightroom which I got at a good price although I use it very very rarely. If/when the subscription price doubles I'll probably revert to PS5 and perhaps start getting my head round Lightroom, also have PSE12 to fall back on. There are free trials of most software available so you could see what you find best for you before commitment

The subscription only checks online once a month. The number of people who go a month without any internet must be really small. No matter where I have been in the world I have always managed to find a wifi connection.
