I just did a google image search for Beer, Devon and the place is extremely photogenic.

There's enough there to keep even the most inspirationally atrophied snapper going for months

I'm rather envious of your trip. Looking forward to your pics.

Lots of sea-scapes in Sidmouth, Teignmouth, Seaton and Budleigh. Lyme Regis, just over the border in Dorse,t is lovely but hell during school holidays and the weekend, when it becomes Kensington plage.

The South West Coast path makes for nice walking. Then there's Dartmoor and Exmoor inland. A couple of steam railways, the best is the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh.

Exeter Cathedral's west front is good as is the dock area but the town was horribly bombed and badly rebuilt.

Lots of pretty villages and small towns inland. Beer itself is a nice village with a steep main street (the caravan site on the hillside outside is hideous).

You should have a wonderful time with your camera.
Best wishes,

Andrew

If the weather is good then a walk up Golden Cap gives some nice landscape opportunities. Then there's Durdle Dore which has to be one of the most photographed places in the country. Then there'sComment Image
the tank museum at Bovington.

Have a search for the area on this site -

http://www.geograph.org.uk/

There are not many areas in the UK without at least one photo, so you can get an idea of what is around.
