Hi Mike, you are not being unkind, but I am not guilty either.....
The only sharpening that was applied is capture sharpening at the default pre-set (portrait sharpening) in L.R. 2.0. And those are very modest values.
What could have give you the impression is the fact that the sun was hitting direct on the stems.(hence the highlights)
And I used the "brush tool" to lighten up the area directly around the stems. No output sharpening was applied.
Martin.

Well captured! Who needs anything but the kit lens ?
(But then again, there would be no LBA).

It's the way the light is hitting the highly reflective stamens I think. Just wondered.
I mess about with/adjust the sharpness settings in ACR these days and fear I overdo it.

Thanks Terry,
I seem to have a good copy of the MK II. It still amazes me, what can be achieved with that 35 quid lens.(old price SRS)

I also think so Mike. I recently upgraded from L.R.1 to L.R.2. I must say the capture sharpening has been very much improved. And I love
the Non Destructive local editing tools like the gradient and the brush tool. Now I almost can do without PS Elements. (95% - 5%)

I still like the way it renders reds.
F13 at 1/40 sec. was as far as I dared to go, given the small breeze that was occasionally moving the flower.
