Having just fitted the PermaJet to the Epson I can say that its a far superior product, its beat the Lyson hands down. Took around an hour and was a pleasure to fit
Just running a sheet of A4 through it using PermaJet own icc profile. I've joined their icc profiling service which gives me 5 custom profiles on any paper so I can get my favourite papers profiled Looking forward to that.
Its good to be a geek sometimes

When printing B&W with the ix6550, (and using canon ink) did you have any problems with a magenta cast at all. I'm seriously thinking of binning the ix6550, it's expensive to run but the colour prints don't seem too bad. Haven't had the confidence to send prints away to be printed.

Hiya Stan, Yeah I also had that problem, all I did was turn the magenta down in the driver settings, think I went -6.
I'll try and find my note book with the settings I used, I'm sure I jotted some down.
The ix6550 is a cracking little thing, don't give up on it!!

That would be great. There seems to be so many settings for this printer and I'm not sure which is best. I usually print using the "Printer" in photoshop or save the image then print it direct using the printer's software. As I said the colour is usually ok but the B&W is more often than not "Oh FFFFFFfffiddlesticks"

I got some good results letting the printer do all the work. My note book is around somewhere, I've just had to re-arrange my work space so its got lost ish if you know what I mean Stan.

Permajet have brought out their version of Ilfords Galerie papers too which pleases me. I'm not sure if the original Ilford paper will be available for much longer.

From what I've read and heard what's on the shelf's is all that's left of the original Ilford paper. Its a real shame as I really like the stuff myself.

I still have the Lyson ciss and ink I fitted to the 1st one, but I've just bought a PermaJet ciss and ink. The Lyson is a good system but I found the ink to be cloggy and some days I seemed to spend more time running the cleaning cycle than printing!
Has anyone used both?
