Having just joined, I would like some advice on which camera to buy my daughter for her birthday. The X90 seems to tick all boxes, but being a photography no-hoper would like some feedback on this model.

Many thanks

G'day and welcome. I can't help you with Pentax compacts, but there will be some here who could give you some practical insights, I'm sure.

The X90 is a very appealing camera that will cover most eventualities. I'm very tempted to buy one myself, the only thing that stops me being unable to find a real excuse to do so!

SRS have a good price for the camera or for a bundle and I'd suggest buying an extra battery so you can keep shooting if you find something really interesting and shoot more images than you expect to.
Best regards, John

A friend is very pleased with her X90, but as John suggests have a spare battery. Do join the discussions and post some pictures.

Best of luck,

Stephen
I gladly welcome C & C's. Being foggy minded they really help me learn.
