I am looking for a Pentax Speedbag, either the original or the M version. Can anyone help?
Best regards, John

I've seen a couple on ebay but neither had the inset that held the lenses. If you do find one it is very likely that the leatherette and foam padding on the lid will have burst due to the hard shoulder strap rubbing against the lid every time it was opened or closed. The only thing to let down a well designed case. Never could figure out why a wooden case was called a 'bag', though. Good luck.

This wouldn't be what you are looking for ?

I bought it in the late 70's for my 'ME'. My daughter stole it a few years ago for a make-up bag !!!!
She never used it as one, because she stole another case of mine and used that instead. I only
found and rescued it a few months ago, but I don't really have a use for it. . . . . . . offers to "Galoot"

I do have one of those, and it's very useful, but, sadly, it's not a Speed Bag.

The real advantage of the Speed bag is accessibility -you can get at every bit of kit faster than any other bag I know.

Unfortunately they do wear out eventually.

Are you sure that's a Pentax box, Galoot?

Wasn't certain at first Daniel, but when the ME slotted in first time, I was almost
sure, then I noticed the writing on the box and was convinced.

I've never been totally sure that the box isn't a third party one, but the strap provided does seem to be of a Pentax design.

In any event it's a superb metal box, lockable, and I generally use mine for lens and body storage rather than for use in the field.
Best regards, John
