think along lines of a ist d (lx,mz or super) dslr cam with 5gig flash memory buffer, and cf slot for wi fi connection, and one can hope an Ipod doc built in......Where does apple get the memory for it's ipods????

Yes, but what size is the sensor? Most non-DSLR digital cameras use tiny little sensors. Lots of noise, usless at higher ISO's.
