Pentax s30 drivers

im having trouble connecting my optio s30 to my computer. i have all the cables and the pentax software (ACDSee), but win98 cant recognise the USB device. Any suggestions ?

Have a look at the Pentax USA site. The software supplied with some recent Pentax digital cameras won't work with W98, and perhaps also W98SE. In fact I am not sure whether W98 itself supports USB. If it does, it probably doesn't do it very well.

If you have a laptop, you can buy a PCMCIA card which will accept various camera cards. They are not expensive.

For any computer, with Windows 98SE and later certainly, you can purchase a USB card reader that will enable you to read the SD cards directly. These are very inexpensive, probably less than £10, and are the most efficient way to get the images into a PC.
