One thing I hope they don't put on it are the "Mickey Mouse" settings on the control dial IE: Landscape mode, Portrait mode etc why oh why do Canon and Nikon insult their "enthusiast" buyers with this nonsense!

Possibly a larger sensor format with a 1.25/1.30 crop , alleviating some of the depth of field issues with v wide angle lenses? I am ssuming that the latest DA lenses are OK with this.
Improved AF a percieved weakpoint by non Pentaxians, improved manual focussing , choice of easily changeable screens?
On board focus calibration?
Personally I would like to see restoration of the KAF2 mount in the body and the extra functionality that it would bring to K mount lenses.
I would also make use of extra processsing power available ,to allow user defineable custom lens profiles. Coupled with an uncrippled KAF2, there should be no reason why a profile cannot be created that would allow a 'prime' K mount lens to have the functionality of a KA mount. Besides the ability to dial in aperture settings, EV compensation could also be a feature of the profile.
Expanding this thought further, Pentax themselves could make K and M series profiles available for download direct into the camera. When such a lens is attached the camera would recognise it as K mount and offer a choice of 'manual' (green button mode) or a list of selectable custom lens profiles.

Ben's a bit of a tart when it comes to teasing us about the K10D plus, but I like him
Like G, I was happy with the *ist D but then I went and dropped the bloody thing... Bought the *ist DL as a back-up but the repaired D was always the first choice to take out (if I was doing digital ).
Seeing the specs of the K10D before it came out was better than watching a porn flick I parted with 550 for mine (I paid 599 for the *ist D) and even though the K10D was the *ist D2 in effect, there is a gulf between the cameras which I noticed during my trip to Masai Mara, the buffer on the *ist D was so frustrating, and it was so nice to keep clicking away on the K10 (I was shooting RAW)....
Tempted as I am about the new model I really want to get to know my current pair.....but as I am going to Galapagos again in 2009, I will buy whatever is available then...but if the new camera is as good as Ben says then..........
