pentax ring flash

I am considering the purchase of a pentax ring flash but notice it does not come with a 55mm adapter for the tamron 90, does anyone know if this item is readily available?

Not sure (would have thought so) but even if not, you could perhaps find a stepper ring? That's what I do with my Sigma ringflash... stepper rings are pretty readily available. I got mine from SRS

Lens Adapter rings are available in 49mm, 52mm, 58mm, 67mm filter threads, as well as a macro adapter for PENTAX D-FA series macro lenses.

If your lens filter thread is 55mm diameter, use the 58mm or 67mm adapters with a 55-58mm or 55-67mm (preferred) stepper ring. The larger ring is preferred because a 55-58mm ring could be quite flimsy, the larger one being more robust IMHO.

Using a stepping ring is going to be a lot cheaper than buying a dedicated adapter, even if one does exist.

Try warehouse express. I got a stepping ring there recently for a pentax ring light. Not the same threads as yours but they sell all sizes. UP to DOWN. and DOWN to UP. warehouseexpress.com CHEERS Vic.

I think he might want to try somewhere a little closer to home (NQ = Australia).

This is the current datasheet for the AF160FC ringlight. It shows that now, only 3 adapters are included, 49, 52, & 58mm.

That said, if you look at the second page of the same datasheet, it mentions second curtain synch, wireless flash, zoom & swivel reflector, catchlight panel, and a few other capabilities that are not included in this flash.

So I wouldn't believe a word of it if I were you.

It is a very good flash though. I wouldn't be without mine.
