Pentax Remote Control E & Remote Control F - differences?

Hi,

I've noticed that Pentax sell two different types of IR remote control (E and F), and I can't seem to find what the difference between the two is, and which is (most) suitable for my K-m.

Can anyone shed any light?
If you can't say something nice about Pentax, you won't say anything at all.

Apparently.

I'm not aware of a "Remote E" ever having been made so I'm guessing that was probably a typo on behalf of the shop selling it. Remote F is the one that you want.

Remote F is the same but without the focus button, I don't know if the focus button works with the Remote E though.

They're separately listed on the Pentax website.

It seems Remote E is discontinued though...

Isn't the remote E for compacts? The second button is for zoom not focus I think.

Yes Kris you're right
The remote also triggers DSLR though, here is an overview from the UK site.

Quote:
Designed for *ist D, Optio 555, 550, 450, S4, S, 430RS, 430, 330RS, 330Remote Control E Features

Fire the shutter on your Optio camera from up to 5m away, depending on model.
Select either instant release, or release with a 3 second delay, to give time to put away the remote so it does not appear in the final picture.
Also includes a handy zoom control.
So Robbie just get the F you've no use for the zoom.

Cheers guys.

I'll grab the "F" I think, purely going to use it as a shutter release when on tripod.

That clears up a mystery for me too. I have two 'E' models, and they both operate the shutter of my DSLR's. I don't think the zoom button does anything for the K10/20D.
