Along with the new K10D firmware, Pentax have now released a codec for RAW .PEF support in Windows Vista. There are also updated versions of Photo Browser, Photo Laboratory and Remote Assistant.

I always just use ACR for dealing with my RAW files.

I won't be touching Vista, way too slow, nothing new except fancy effects... Would rather they brought out application and PEF support for Linux.

Haven't got a K10D yet, but thinking of installing the Remote Assistant software just for the fun of it:

"When the installation will be completed and the massage is displayed, click [Finish]. "

Can't wait!

Dream on! I only wish that they could port Photoshop to Sun Solaris, but a UNIX version is probably not in the cards.

Solaris is UNIX based, just like Linux, and to some extent OSX. That kind of support would be wonderful as I'd be a step closer to ditching Windows.

Gimp's colour support is pretty poor for a lot of work. Either way, I use Lightroom and Photoshop so it is either OSX or XP for me. I did have a go with UFRAW and GIMP but didn't get along too well with them.
