I running photoshop cs3

I have taken some raw images with my sons k-x

never had this problem with my k20's

but bridge and photoshop will not display the images from the k-x (wrong kind for file is what i am getting displayed on my screen) but the file is a PEF JUST LIKE THE K20????

Why is this happening and how do I get around this.

I have tried going to bridge for up dates and this is returned to me as all updated

Every camera model from every manufacturer has its own slight variation of the RAW file. You need to ensure that Adobe have an update that includes the K-x, see their website.

Failing that, use DNG instead of PEF and all should be well. Or shoot JPEG.

IIRC CS3 Camera Raw updates stopped at V4.6 which included support up to the K20, you either have to upgrade PS to CS4 or CS5 to get PEF support for any Pentax cameras released after the K20.
