Hi All

Thought I'd share what the Pentax Q on a 1500mm telescope can do.

Here is what the telescope is looking at taken with the 8.5mm Pentax Q lens.

The red rectangle indicates (approximately) the field of view through the scope.

The adapter is just a C mount adapter with a C to 11/4 Inch tube which drops into the eyepiece mount on the telescope, cheap and simple.

Now the Moon!
This space deliberately left blank.

Did you take the photo looking through the window glass? That would totally destroy the definition.
Best regards, John

Is that a 1500mm telescope being converted into an effective 8250mm lens? Or was that a 270mm telescope effectively being 1500mm?

It'll be interesting to see a moon shot with that....

Next on my list, but at this focal length I will only be able to get a little of it in the frame.

It's a Skywatcher 127 Muskatov-Cassegrain telescope so it's 1500mm X 5.5 crop factor so it's effectively an 8250mm lens.

Looks like it's double glazed too, so pretty impressive I'd say.

I can get higher magnification than that but image quality suffers so I haven't shared any results.

At last!! I have some decent light to re-do these shots, this time outside, not through double glazing.

Same setup as before Skywatcher 127 Muskatov Cassegrain telescope an f4 1500mm lens effectively, with the 5.5 crop factor giving the equivalent of an 8250mm lens.
