Pentax Q oddity

I took this shot of a distant cow with my Q with the 300mm DA* (a fine Combination I think). It was raining and misty hence the flat, but still slightly unusual appearance. This is pretty much uncropped. (well 1720mm, what do you expect!)

Then someone said it reminded them of an old master they had on the wall of a cow. So I pinched their frame:-

It's actually rather a nice effect. Well done!

Good fun and a good shot too. I would recommend the distortion correction though as there is marked barrelling evident with the frame.

Yes, an interesting fluke. You are right of course Adrian but I didn't actually photograph the frame. I just cut the middle out of the other person's pic and slotted mine in. If I was taking it more seriously I probably should!

It makes a really interesting image Dave, well thought out and executed, apart from the frame distortion!

That is a great effect, Dave - a nice photo and a nice painting. The distortion is inevitable - magnifying the cow as much as you have is bound to put a huge strain on the frame.
