I'd be very interested in how you get on with that John. The crop factor is something that really interests me with the Q, both for macro and wildlife.

I think Santa might have one for me too - looking forward to it. Let's hope the weather is fine and bright at the appropriate time.

My Mum has been staying with us over Christmas, so it will be this weekend before I can try the adapter properly.
Initial observation is that a tripod and very, very careful focusing will be needed. Plus lenses with an aperture ring will be most useful.

Although I have used the 50/1.4 handheld on the Q with fairly reasonable results - but my focusing was only very careful (and out)... should have been 'very, very careful'

A quick check made sure it was OK, so no comments on optical quality yet, but I can say something about its physical quality.
The finish is excellent, the brass Q fit side fits like silk, just like a Pentax bayonet would. The steel K mount side is OK, not as good as a Pentax bayonet, but on a par with Tokina and others. Not too tight a fit, but not quite as silky as Pentax. The lens release button is basic but sound. A substantial tripod socket is fitted.
Worth the money, without a doubt, and turns a 100mm Macro into a very impressive 550mm-equivalent Macro lens. Let's not rehash the technicalities of that!
Report to follow properly after 25th December. Hang on, that might be the sledge collecting at the door now.....
