Yes, there are a large number of Pentax Espio cameras, using 35mm film.
They started off with 35-70mm lenses, but later ones had wider ranges. A search on eBay should come up with lots of them with very low prices attached.

Searches in charity shops throw up Espios for pence, the last one I saw was 50p!!
For a bit more they often come witha case and manual.

There is a pattern to the numbers and I would expect a 928 to have a 28-90mm lens.

Pentax made a whole range of point & shoots and were the first with a zoom lens in the Zoom 70 (35-70). My favourite was the Espio-Mini with a 32mm lens (sadly mine has stopped working - but then it led a very hard life). The classic in a similar era to the trip was the PC35 which had an optional add-on winder.

My mother-in-law uses an old Espio of mine with 28-90 zoom. It must be fifteen years old but still produces good shots. Not a patch on my new Optio S1, though...
I often see old Pentax film cameras in the charity shop where I "work": we can't give them away!

Another fan of the Espio-mini with its brilliantly sharp lens! I bought mine 17 years ago but now the flash doesn't fire every time it should

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Astonishing!
I bought the remote control for mine which still works on the original battery with my dslrs after 17 years.
