Welcome to the forum
Don't have an optio so can't say something about the operation manual but here is the one on their site link

The card problem is strange, it might be that you accidentally have locked the card.
There is a small switch on the side of the card, take a look at that and try if it makes a difference.

Hi there, welcome to the forum

As Stefan say maybe the card has been accidentally locked or perhaps there is a memory card fault.
Do you have another memory card you could try?

You can download the full manual as a pdf here http://media.pentax.co.uk/downloads/photo/en/17394/optio%20m60.pdf

Is the small slider switch on the card in the "lock" position?
Best regards, John

How big is the card?

The M60 is a 10 meg sensor and as such will fill a small card VERY quickly.

Oh yes! welcome to the forum.
