PENTAX OPTIO 33L error

hi

i just bought a pentax optio 33L. The camera itself works fine but for some reason when i plug in the camera to my PC, it will not detect it. I already installed the driver (CD) that came in the box and i also tried downloading it off of their site. It says the driver is installed but instead of saying "Found new hardware" it says that the USB malfunctioned and it doesnt reconize it.
when i check the device managers, it just says "unknown device"

This is vert frustrating as i just spent close to 500 dollars on the camera and equipment but i CANT UPLOAD THE PICTURES.
