Pentax Optio 330 display dark - backlight lamp broken?

I'm wondering how I can my Pentax Optio 330 LCD backlight fixed.

The camera takes photos fine, I just don't see anything on the display because it appears the backlighting lamp is broken.

Is this a part I can reasonably expect to obtain myself and install? I'm hesitant to take it in for repair because of a expensive and lengthy repair process my friend had to go through to get a dog-hair removed from the mechanism of his camera.
