pentax mx, me or me super

Hi,
You pose a difficult question and it is difficult to find a camera that does everything. The biggest problem is cost. A very good starting place is here http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/ The "bible" for bayonet mount.
It is also worth hunting through the posts as many of the cameras have been discussed and you will get a wider view. For my thoughts, - well assuming you want manual focus, the best answer is the LX. This will do just about everything except full programed exposure. However it comes at a cost. If you need slightly less and want programe mode, I would opt for the Super A which tends to be very under rated. Certainly I have found it a lot more capable than the ME Super or P50 which are the better of the M series with auto exposure and P's. If you want a fully manual camera, l'd look at the KX. Not very common and lacks the motor facility and changeable screens of the MX but generally cheaper and as rugged as they come. It has mirror lockup, depth of field preview and one of the clearest viewfinders of the "pure" manuals.
If you want more "modern" facilities as you put it, have a look at the MZ5 preferably the MZ5n. Auto focus, auto exposure and the rest but with a more trad layout and capable of full manual overide. No doubt others will have other ideas!!
Best thing to do is make a short list, go hunting to try some out and above all be patient in order to get the one you want in a reasonable condition at a sensible price.

recently I grew an interest in photography and I wanted to buy a pentax slr (for budget and recomendation reasons). But I do not know wich one best suits for me.
I'm looking for a slr that can be totally manual (I'am a control freak). I'am also looking for something that relatively "modern" capabilities so that when I'm out of the beginners phase I can take some hard to take pictures with the same slr. When looking on the inet I found the pentax, MX, Me and super Me very interesting. However the MX lacks some modern feautures as mirror lock up, The Me is not full manual and the Super does not have function that the mx have.
Can somebody help me out with their experience, or perhaps advice me another pentax ?
