pentax MV1 light sensor issue

Hi guys and gals, im new to the forum,
im having problems with my Pentax MV1, the light sensor in the view finder is not working, ive replaced the batteries and still no change, i really want to start sooting with this camera again, any help anyone?

Hi Welcome to the forum.

Are the batteries in the right way round (I usually get it wrong)? They should be inserted (+) side down. Also, the manual I have suggests the may only light in 'Auto' mode - but I suspect you've tried that.
