Pentax Kr - Powering off, just when you get the shot you want.

Welcome Stephen - is this also occurring if you adjust (in the menus) the way you initiate autofocus? For instance, if you assign autofocus to the dedicated button on the the camera, instead of using the 'shutter half-press', does it still occur?
I'm wondering if you've got an intermittent connection in that power / shutter switch area, as your power switch is located around the shutter button...

Thanks i-Berg, I'm away on business at the moment (minus Kr ), but will give this a try when I get home.

Just trying to get some advice on an intermittent but annoying issue I seem to have with my Kr.
When out taking photos the camera seems to reset itself (as if being manually turned off and then on again). As you’d expect this tends to happen just when you think you’ve got the perfect shot lined up – and the delay (even though its only a few seconds) is starting to spoil my Pentax experience.
I’ve listed below the things I’ve tried/checked, but would be interested to see if anyone else has any experience/advice. The camera is well within the warranty period, so if all else fails I’ll send it away for investigation, however with a vacation coming up pretty soon, didn’t really want to do this unless it’s my last option.
1) Fully and correctly charged Li battery used (don’t have a spare or the battery cradle to check other power source)
2) Issue is apparent with kit and alternative Pentax lenses fitted and happens on all modes (auto, manual, etc...)
3) Auto-off function within camera setup set to Off (as well as various other intervals)
4) Firmware updated to V1.01
5) Confirmed on/off dial is not inadvertently moved
It seems to happen most frequently after the shutter release is depressed half way, but a shot is not taken.
Any help will be gratefully received.
