This is a very quick post as I am still sifting through three days worth of images that I took during the RAC Rally this weekend.

This was the first use with the K3 for fast moving subjects and I shot in the dark, the rain, and harsh bright sunlight.

So far the K3 has performed far better than the K5lls in relation to focusing and tracking. As my DA* 16mm - 50mm is currently out of service I had to use my fish eye with a 1.4 teleconverter for wider work, when I could not use the DA* 50mm - 135mm for shorter focal lengths.

Really pleased with how the K3 is holding up for this type of photography and I am getting a lot more keepers than I would have done with the K5lls.

If you are in need of faster AF the K3 is an improvement and the buffer when shooting Hi speed works like a dream.

Lots of togs packed their gear away when the rain started to poor down, I just kept shooting,

Glad to hear you're pleased with the K-3. I just received mine Saturday, and didn't have time to fool around with it yet.

Pentaxian450 when you do get a chance to play with your new K3, I am sure you will be a very happy guy.

I look forward to seeing some images you take with the your K3.

Good to hear of the improvements you've seen to the AF & tracking performance. Thats what everyone is wanting to know about!

When you get more time to explore it I'd be interested to know how you set up the various new menu items relating to continuous focusing. Thanks for the post.

Nigel, give me about two days and i will post some info as to what AF settings I used, when and why over the weekend photographing the RAC Rally OK.

The K3 is a big improvement over the K5ll, but if you want a full specced sports camera the Nikon D4 or canon 1DX still rule, but I don't have that kind of money for the bodies or lenses I would need to go with them, but the K3 is doing a very good job in my opinion and for far less outlay in terms of money.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to play with it as much as I'd like for a while. My wife is still in the hospital, and that keeps me rather busy.
