I'm in the market to get back into a DSLR. The K-S2, appeals to me with its image quality, feature set. Curious of those using the K-S2, how do you like your camera, what are you mainly shooting?

I bought the KS2 as a backup body for my K3 and have since taken it on tours to Uruguay, Italy and for hillwalking in Germany and UK.
I find colour rendition better than K3 it is lighter and just a wee bit smaller.
It is my wife's go to camera coupled with the 18-135 WR lens it is a great walk about anywhere camera.
I would definately buy again.
Cheers,

Bruce

As a recently 'returned to photography' person as well, I'm just loving this camera.

I used to be into SLR photography in a big way then got fed up with the weight of everything so went down the compact camera route. After many years I got fed up with the compromises involved with compact cameras - don't get me wrong, they're great for many uses - so investigated the DSLR cameras now around.

One of my main criteria was that it be robust with weather resistance. With that criteria you are looking at very expensive (for me) full frame cameras, or bridge cameras with smaller sensors. There were some other camera body alternatives, but to get a matching weather resistant lens you had to spend more than I wanted to.

So it came down to Pentax with their good range of WR lenses and bodies. After a lot of research I plumped for the K-S2 and have not regretted it. It has amazing flexibility in setting it up and I love having two dedicated user set photo settings, I've got mine set up for landscape and sport.

I know that many people have a poor experience with the Pentax app, but for me it works perfectly. I've also just started to experiment with the astrotracer, that also works well and opens up a whole new world of photography.
SMC Pentax-DA L 18-50mm F4-5.6 DC WR RE; SMC Pentax-DA L 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR; SMC Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR;
HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3 ED PLM WR RE; SMC Pentax-FA 80-320mm F4.5-5.6; HD Pentax DA AF Converter 1.4X AW.

The 50-200 and 80-320 will be sold assuming I like my new 55-300.

I currently have a k5 & k10. Have resisted replacing the k5 so far but with the improvement's in the newer cameras it won't be long!
I must admit that I'm attracted to the ks-2 for it's lighter weight, for days in the mountains. Seems to offer a lot for the price.
