Pentax K-5 high ISO examples from photokina:

Hopefully this is OK to have these photos all max-res and in this post, as it is of real interest to many.

Yes I think it's just a straight jpeg conversion form the RAW with no changes (not being able to view RAW and all)

Fabulous and usable up to 3200. Well it depends on what you feel is acceptable, still I'd be more than happy with those results. Well done Pentax!!

Now, if the focusing has been nailed Canikon better watch out!

I went out shopping earlier and took a load of drive by shootings with my K20D. I started off on ISO1000 and was upto ISO6400 on the way home after it got dark. 250'ish shots. Just finished squeezing them through Lightroom. The last lot are nothing but abstracts, the immense grain and very low shutter speed

Can't wait to get a K-5

Yup certainly does. Although it does it extremely noisily
