The sad thing about all this is that it's far from confirmed. All that was confirmed was that R&D was in progress, which we would have expected anyway. This might be very advanced and just waiting for the green light, or not so advanced and needing more work. We have no idea apart from a vague "from 2013", although it might happen if Pentax decide it's necessary ASAP.
I hope it doesn't dissuade people from buying now, because they could be waiting longer than they think. Of course, equally well I could be wrong, but I wouldn't personally hang around for something that's speculation.
Thanks for trying to bring back some common sense. I didn't find much in that interview at all. IMO he was just saying what he had to say in light of the PK'12 buzz of the 6D, D600 & RX1. If you want to present an optimistic business, you would be expected to be, responding and taking advantage of this probable new 'DSLR-lite' market. The sad thing about all this is that it's far from confirmed. Well, I would like to see a FF. It is annoying for me, to need to multiply all the focal length of my lenses by 1.5.
This made my widest lens not so wide anymore.
Also, when using a 35mm lens as an equivalent 50mm lens,is there any difference between the curvature of field of the 35mm lens, compared to the 50mm lens on a FF?
Regards, Horst

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
I was looking at a Panasonic G3 a few weeks ago and when I put my eye to the EVF I put the camera straight down on the shop counter.....the day all cameras go EVF is the day I stop buying any cameras.

My partner currently shoots with a fuji HS10... She almost never uses the EVF but shoots almost exclusively in liveview...I was looking at a Panasonic G3 a few weeks ago and when I put my eye to the EVF I put the camera straight down on the shop counter.....the day all cameras go EVF is the day I stop buying any cameras.
I personally have only started using liveview recently (and only when camera is mounted to tripod) and couldn't live without a viewfinder... But the idea of a 'lectric one is pretty revolting tbh...
I want to see what's 'there' not what a circuit board 'thinks' is there... Mirrors are important to the way I want to shoot...
Liveview however is also very useful... When using an ND the other day I couldn't have got the shot without it...

Does this bother me? Well, actually it doesn't. I have a fantastic APS-C (K-5)which massively exceeds my amateur needs, and I gave it a new lease of life with a recently aquired lens which takes it even further beyond my limitations(DA 18-135). The point is that I am having a fantastic time with this setup and my many old Pentax lenses.
Any improvement I might want can be met by better glass. Perhaps in the years ahead I will treat myself to a limited prime or a star lens. I am thinking that there is, for me, plenty of potential already in production. This can take my photographic aspirations as far as I could realistically want. Even if I could afford the likely cost of a FF Pentax, I suspect that the quality of my photography would not be massively improved - I am the limited not by technology, but by my creative ability. Fortunatley, this can be significantly bettered through experience and learning, and at no further cost to my bank balance.
I enjoy the Pentaxes I already have; and I do remind myself that most photographers, even those with FF cameras, are not as fortunate as us!
