Does anyone know if there is a way to see the photographs that are in the sd card in the camera, directly from an ipad?

Yes - Apple sell a card reader that plugs into the iPad.

I bought a lookie likey version from ebay .... cost about £5.00 and works fine. Has the benefit of letting you plug a USB device in as well.
I wish .....

With Apple you get two adapters, one for the SD card and the other for a mini USB cable

You would have to be connected to your wifi network, the wifi card cant talk to the ipad directly

The eye fi pro cards do, but boy are they slow... Just do a direct connection.

Yes, I found eye-fi slower than expected. I watched a you tube demo that showed almost instant transfer but I can only assume he had his camera set to produce very small file sizes.

[quote but I can only assume he had his camera set to produce very small file sizes.[/quote]Yes, I do Raw + the smallest Jpg possible, the Raw stays on the card, the Jpg copies to the Tablet and displays.
