Thanks for this but..... its a bit far away for me. There is a bus to Exeter from Poole but I would have about 30min in Exeter before I have to get back. So, no way for me.
Maybe one day they come further east at the coast. Bournemouth has a large University and College where Photography and Media in general is studied, so plenty of interest here but they seem never to make it here.
Even Southampton would be fine as it is on the main Rail Line.
Shame really as I would not mind to have a play with special lenses like Extreme Long Range or Macro.
Don't tell my wife or she is chasing me with a broom through the street with my camera that I am eyeing already at a 500mm or even longer lens for Wildlife and Whitewater Canoe pictures with a 5.6 or larger Aperture and AF to work with my new toy
Would even have to rescue my new K-5 or it ends up in the bin.
Do not start to cue yet as it will never happen.
Be nice to me and I may consider you in my will for it!

In all kind of weather (not like the Freezer we got at the moment) the stretch between Poole and Portland Bill is my preferred Hunting ground with Upton County Park well worth in Spring and Autumn time.
Well, there goes my secret
Swanage Observatory is of particular interest as well as for X-mas I ill get an PK adapter for my 8" Telescope. As there is no 'stray light' around there you can take awesome pictures.
Gets sometimes pretty crowded on clear summer nights but is too cold in the winter even with a tent.
Drop me a line when you are in the area and we may can take a day out 'shooting'. Some awesome places for every likings around this area.
If I would not be here, Scotland (Highlands) would be for me. Had a 2 week stay in Durness years ago and I just fell in love with that area. Be planning of getting back there for next year.

I haven't been to the Highlands in a long time, but I agree it is fantastic. Also the Isle of Skye, a bit of a photographic cliché, but for good reason. The light there is like nowhere else I have been.

Thanks Gwyn, I had missed it and am close to Barnstaple so will try and go along. Particularly interested to see the new 18 - 135.
