Minus the shipping charges, who wants to get stung by HMRC for an additional $1,900(ish) on import tax and vat??...

And it's not something that you could sneak into the country either...

SRS have given prices for rental, although it's not in stock yet. Given the price of the lens and availability - rental of a Nikkor 500mm f4 VR from Fixations is a fraction of the price.

Who knows - if the price of the lens eventually comes down to a reasonable level it might be affordable to buy or rent.

I may need an assistant to carry it around for me

Not to mention a lottery winner to buy it for me any offers:
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

I'll gladly be a lottery winner for you!
If you supply the stake money I'd even buy the lens for you as long as the winnings cover it, and my expenses.

I'd even carry it for you (attached to my camera & probably being used when ever you want it) except of course you're the wrong side of the UK.

I see that we may have stumbled on a few logistical issues here

I doubt that I would ever be buying one of those - if I did I would never be able to afford to go anywhere to take photographs. Hang on... here's wondering - is it powerful enough to shoot all my images without having to leave home?
