For clarification re the 3 small blemishes behind the front element- a pretty experienced camera buff has had a look at the lens for me and has expressed the view that it seems to be dust. But as he is neither in the trade nor technically an expert, he won’t let me rely on his opinion in case there is any subsequent controversy.
So, as it seems likely to be dust, I then asked John Riley what the significance of dust inside the lens was, and I quote his reply: "most lenses have a bit of dust inside and provided it isn't excessive it doesn't have any optical effect”. He does however want to make it clear that he has not seen the lens in question, and that that is just a general comment by him.
What I can say as a matter of fact is that the blemishes are so small that I had not noticed them until I looked at my own photos of them, even though this has been probably my most frequently used lens. I repeat that they do not affect the quality of picture taken with the lens: the two photos of the lens box were taken with it, and I have looked at them closely and can see nothing wrong with them.

Selling in favour of new DA16-50*.
Complete with original front and rear caps and lens-hood, plus the box it came in.
It has consistently produced very good clear images for me, and is in good working order, so I was surprised when looking at my pics below to notice the 3 small blemishes behind the front element that you can see pic 2 particularly. However they have not affected images produced by the lens, and I presume they are debris of some sort. (The lens has no external signs of damage).
Below are 5 pics of the lens taken today with my DA55-300 ( followed by 2 taken with this lens also today, at differing focal lengths and completely unretouched of course, showing its box, hood, and front cap).
My price includes UK postage, with payment by bank transfer or cheque (or Paypal if you pay the extra to cover the Paypal fees), and the lens will be despatched upon clearance of payment.
