Not surprised. The have not been to the last three Focus shows and it is indeed frustrating.....
The offical line in the past is "We prefer to spend our money on advertising". Read into that what you will.
However, the upside is that a number of dealers at the show DO have all the kit available to play with, if that is scant consolation.
I wonder if SRS will be there? Chris?

This event seems to have been less and less about cameras and lenses and much more about all the other stuff that we need.
Pentax have been there before in some guise or another when they have not been listed as such, so you never know.

Even if they were there people would be complaining about the size of their stand - just as they did in Cologne and New York .

Very true John.
In spite of Pentax not offically being there, it still a worthwhile event to go to. And some of the talks are excellent.

Agreed. They are not Canon or Nikon with their Hedonistic stands.......

Do you get loads of people walking round the show carrying a DSLR with a massive lens on? Very true John.

I remember reading on a Biking forum once.
2 blokes strode into a big biking show one year in full leathers, boots, gloves etc carrying their really expensive helmets. Spent a good few hours walking round the stands, sitting on the bikes etc then left.
Walked outside .. straight into a people carrier .. and drove off.

They should be arrested for impersonating a power ranger...I remember reading on a Biking forum once.

I think it is the right attitude..The cost of attending these exhibitions is horrendous. You dont make sales at shows. You can however raise awareness. They are correct in my opinion to support there dealers at the show and spread the awareness campaign in more cost effective ways which will in the long term be more proactive. They have already commented that they wish to increase their high street presence.

No chance to see & handle Pentax DSLRs and lenses. Opportunity missed? Oly also not present but the other 3 manufacturers are plus Ricoh.
