I find the way Jessops advices quite funny, at my local branch staff wears t-shirs with N logo on, I see these people getting in, speaking to the staff, looking at this logo and asking what would be the best camera .
Aside, this branch has at least two people I'm aware of, who know a lot about photography and have wider view not just C&N.

DON'T go into jessops and mention Pentax, they'll only look at you as if you're nuts!
Instead look around the independent stores, or on line, there you'll find everything you need and plenty of helpful people who'll give advice.
It's not that the other manufacturer's are bad, they're just not up to the standard of Pentax.

I bought my D40 in jessops. They only sell cameras.
I like your comments so far, talking to a shop keeper few weeks ago, about changing from nikon to pentax, he did seem surprised.I made a good move really, I have a dodgy arm so can't hold cam steady, with the stabilized body though blurred pictures are virtually non existant
My girlfriend recently got her pentax down from the loft, much to my delight there were a couple of lenses. M 135mm has produced some fantastic shots, other one broke.
cheers for now
Chris

Hi everybody,
Great forum BTW, I'm new to photography and Pentax.
Can somebody enlighten me, why do Pentax get underrated so much.
I went into a camera shop on the weekend and mentioned that I had a K200D and it was not well received, I read reviews on Pentax cameras and they are clearly biased, always toward canon and nikon!!!
It seems that Pentax have fallen out with a lot of suppliers in UK, Jessopos being the most obvious-WHY?????
They make such good kit!! and have done for years!!!I cant wait to get my hands on a K20D,despite the fact that I have just bought a K200D, do I need another cam? no! do I want one ? yes. Have I been bitten by the Pentax bug as I suspect? A groan- I buy several magazines, and quite frankly I'm sick of seeing canon and nikon tests!! aaargh. Anybody want to buy a Nik D40? Regards Chris
For the less enlightened of us, could you explain what "BTW" is please?
