My flash has suddenly stopped flashing! It charges quickly and the test button lights, but it will not flash, either via test or on camera. Could this be the bulb? Are they worth repairing?

Hi John,
I had a similiar problem with a 280T. It did everything including flashing on the test button and even if you shorts the hot shoe but wouldn't work on a camera. As to repair, it tends not to be whether it's worth repairing but if you can get it repaired. Most of the usuals I tried said one of the few things they wouldn't touch was digitals and flashes! Earlier you said your ME Super didn't recognise the gun. Having checked, the ME Super should go the the flash synch speed as soon as the gun is charged although you would have to set the aperture unlike the P series. This would tend to point toward the control circuits. I suspect the best option is a replacement. It would also give you a chance for something with a bit more power. Certainly the 280T is a fabulous gun for MF.

Regards
Kim
