Hi,

I'm new to this website as I have just treated myself to a Pentax A20 camera while on holiday. I have to say that I think the camera is great and very smart looking.

The only thing at the moment I was wondering about was, when you edit a photo the new photo has the date and time of when it was saved. Is there anyway of changing it to when the original photo was taken?

All digital cameras record full details about each picture, and this info is embedded in the file (RAW or JPEG).

Look up EXIF in your picture-viewing software, and it will tell you how to see this information.

Hi Prso,

in Windows Explorer, right click the photo, then Properties | Summary | Advanced and it will give you the EXIF info, which will include Date/Time, shutter speed, ISO, aperture and lots of other stuff you might want to know.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your quick response. What I am trying to do is once I have changed a photo and saved it, change the date of new photo to the date of the original photo.

I don't think you can do that without some additional software. Do a search on this forum because I'm pretty sure someone has at some time posted the solution to your query.
Best regards, John

Are you trying to change the date/time as reported by Windows or the date/time as shown in the Exif data?

If the former, try http://www.attributemagic.com/touch.html, if the latter, i think http://www.irfanview.com/ can do it.

I don't think Irfanview will let you change the EXIF data, but it will let you add IPTC data, plus a comment.
