I have had this lens for a long time from new, but used it just couple of times. It is a nice piece of equipment (has fixed f4 throughout its range) sharp and contrasty, except for too much purple fringing. I already have many AF lenses of similar range so it has to go. Anyone can advise on value of this particular glass? some pics:

Some say it is uncoated version, since it lacks SMC in the title, but it looks purple-coated to me... very few information out there. It's either rare on not very popular...? Cheers

Thanx Mike, that was quick! I think I'll rather keep it since I can't get much

Just keep in mind ebay prices vary a bit. I ebayed one that came in a job lot about 8 months ago, I believe I got about 50 for it. I also found it to have surprisingly severe purple fringing.

This is the cheap version of the fabled SMC Pentax-A 70-210mm, the purple fringing is presumably what happens when you leave the SMC coating out.
