Pentax A 1.4xS Converter
George.
As described by a previous seller: “This is the 'S' version which was designed for use with lenses up to 300mm. It has the 'A' pins to allow correct exposure in certain auto modes with all 'A' series and later lenses. It has Pentax SMC coatings on the optics, the optical formula is 5 elements in 4 groups, with a length of 22mm and a weight of 145gm. It's a great accessory to have in the camera bag for very little cost (weightwise and pricewise compared to the AF version). This converter works very well with the DFA 100mm macro lens in manual focus mode, set the catch-in-focus to on and rock the camera/lens backwards and forwards and when the subject is in focus the camera fires, works a treat.”
I am simply (aged eyesight) not good at MF anymore and will consider any decent offer.

Pros: Genuine Pentax coatings, good glass, works will with my lenses
Cons: It is a teleconverter. it was designed for shorter lenses
This adapter works well with any of my lenses, maintaining all exposure functions. It cannot, of course, turn either of my M lenses into an A series lens.
My use for the adapter these days is with the M400/5.6 which becomes a quite nice M560/8 with the adapter on the back. The IQ is not horribly degraded with the adapter. The quality is better than an equivalent crop with the 400 on my K10D, despite the adapter being designed for use with lenses no longer than 300mm.
The lens is in Shropshire with a friend and ready to be mailed.
