What's not to like? Those are excellent results from a measly £1. I like that P.way trolley in front of the Brush type 4 too. What does it do?

Proves you don't need the most modern kit to produce decent images, just a good eye for an image, well shot

Lovely images whatever the camera, but I've always liked the 750Z as well. I also let mine go. I also regretted it. Alas, I haven't found one for £1 !

I believe the yellow trolley is a "Tamper" for when our P-Way team re-set and ballast the track. Fortunately I am still too young for our P-Way team (their average age is still ahead of the steam teams - just! )

So I was delighted to see one up for auction on Ebay, dead battery and no charger. I took a risk and put a small bid on and was delighted to win the auction for the princely sum of £1.00 (postage was £3.99!). A quick search on Ebay and a a replacement battery were soon on the way.
With the new battery charged and inserted I was pleased to see the 750Z spring into life.
First trip out was to accompany me on a volunteering day at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. While photography has been my hobby since the late 1970's working on a heritage railway has been a post retirement occupation. I currently work (?) as a fireman on the various steam locomotives we operate.
My duties on the day were around prepping the steam loco, The Duke (Huntley 0-6-0 Austerity), for another Santa Special trip. When all was complete I had and opportunity to put my bargain compact through its paces.
We also operate a good selection of heritage diesel locos
To say the least I am very happy with my £1 camera - just goes to show there are some real bargains out there
