I've just come across an online auction for what, from the photo, looks to my Pentax 67-owning-eye like a lens for this camera. It's from an estate and clearly its seller knows nothing about it. The description given of it is:

9.5cm high with caps on..extends to 11 cm high . has written around inside of lens...SUPER-TAKUMAR
1:2.5/135 asahi opt co . Lens made in Japan.

Can anyone give me some information about this lens, and about what sort of price I might expect to pay for it?

Thanks
Rebecca

If it was for a Pentax 67 it would say so on the lens. Also, it wouldn't be a Super-Takumar, I think all the 67 lenses have always been Super Multi Coated. It sounds like a fast 135mm lens for the 35mm screw thread bodies.
Best regards, John

Hi Rebecca,
I have just had a look at my literature collection. There was a 105 and a 165 lens for the 6x7 but not a normal 135. There was a 135 but this was an F4 Macro. I would agree with John that it is almost certainly the M42 lens. More info on the 6x7 range on my website here http://www.pentax-manuals.com/literature/literature.htm

Regards
Kim
