Peak Design Straps

Does anyone have any experience of the Peak Design strap system?

No experience with them. I did consider them when I was looking for a new system, as I liked the idea of being able to attach the camera to a back pack strap for instance. In the end I opted for the Luma Labs Cinch though.

I have used them and still do - the system is very convenient. I usually have the wrist strap on all the time and will change to the neck strap every now and again. My only gripe with the neck strap is that it is not very wide so tends to dig into the neck. They have now come up with a quick release system to use with any strap, which looks promising but I haven't looked into it in any great detail.
I also bought their quick release plate, that you can attach to your belt and have the camera hanging from there. I am not really impressed with it and don't use it now at all.

Old thread I know, but here's my pennyworth. Having just swopped my Sigma 150-500 lens for the Pentax 150-450, I found I needed to get a sling strap (the Sigma had one attached to the tripod mount). The other issue I never resolved is that the Pentax strap on the camera body would dangle loose and get in the way when attached to the Sigma. So I buzzed over to Premier Inks and settled on a Peak Design slide strap, it looks and feels robust and I like that I can attach one end to the lens tripod mount and the other to the camera so it doesn't feel as if one is carrying the weight of the other and straining the mount. However, having removed the Pentax strap from the camera body to fit the Peak clips I found that the strap is far too bulky and stiff if left on the camera to fit in my walk-around camera case. So, for when I don't need the big telephoto I am off to get Peak's links which will fit onto the Pentax strap and should give the best of both worlds. What do others use for their big lenses?

I have the peak design "leash" and wrist strap. I dont like the wrist strap very much....it ties up the hand you have it attached to. Try getting something out your pocket with it on.
I like the leash better, quite comfortable. The connectors are a good idea....but, and i mean a BIG but.....the first one i got, one of the connectors came apart on its first use, as in attaching it to the camera!! It literally fell apart!!
I bought it from premier inks, who were great, and sent out a replacement.
There is some info of the net about them coming apart, and how to check if you have a dodgy one....i knew straight away there was something wrong with one of mine.
The replacement has been fine though.

Scarr1, since scaring myself after googling Peak Design failures I see that the link with the spring clip has been redesigned to make sure it doesn't come out. I bought this product because it claimed to take any weight of camera and lens combination and with a breaking limit many times the load I would put on it; disappointed to see they don't reimburse equipment damaged by failure of their product although testing that in a court would be interesting. Time to review camera insurance!
