WOW - was expecting one of those very very showy strutting birds - instead I get a very lovely flutterby and I can see why it's called a peacock

Beautiful colours, a fine example and a bright effective exposure. Perhaps a tighter crop would have even more impact?

This really is a stunning image Mike, all the more so because it was shot with a zoom. I would struggle to better this with the DA*300 and that is saying something. I take my hat off to you.

Cracking shot. Looks a little bright to me though and my monitors are slightly on the dark side. I'd drop it down 0.3 to 0.5 EV

No it's not 'over'exposed but just on the high side of brightness for me. I think taken down a bit the colours would be richer

I know what Smeggy means: the background is awfully bright. I reckon as it's so even in tone, it might be possible to select it with the magic wand tool and take it down a notch.

Smeggy, I have already darkened the picture once .. it's because I use a laptop all the time now, no doubt the final edit depends on screen position but it looks ok on here.
Thanks David, I am actually considering selling my DA* 300mm as I rarely use it and the 50-500mm OS I have here seems a particularly good copy.
