They rake the extra from your nominated account. If that's a credit card, it happens straight away. Not sure how fast a bank account gets accessed, but in theory it could be instantly and it never seems to be!

Mine seems to go through instantly, then it takes PP three days to take it from my bank account via direct debit.
This would be why I spotted that some sewer-dweller had ripped off my card details recently - there was a Visa Paypal payment on there. I don't use my card for Paypal, and the payment wasn't shown in my PP history. Card is now cancelled and the bank fraud squad are chasing it up.

I am thinking about buying a lens, but I don’t have enough in my PP account, do PP automatically take the extra from my nominated account, or do I have to transfer it into PP first?
