Her mother told me that she ins't satisfy. She can't explained why, she just expect something totally difrent. What exactly? I don't have any idea!

Those photographs have a very distinctive quality about them. Very good and that's from someone who dislikes children and especially photos of children.

They are nice images. I like them but I suppose if you are conservative you may be expecting something more traditional. They're quite dark, which goes against a lighter white style.

I think from a photography point of view they are excellent .. from a parents maybe not so much. The problem for me is that I cant make out who the subject is .. the little boy, the adults or the baby?

I think you needed more pictures of just the baby herself .. in every picture apart from the first two she seems to be more a part of the background than the subject of the shoot.

Does that make sense?

I think they form a fine documentary of the baby's baptism, but I can see that they may not be to everyone's taste. Maybe she wanted something more traditional?

Have to agree with mike on this, a refreshing move away from the mawkish.

I agree with what people said that the mother might have been expecting something more traditional, but to be honest I think they are a fantastic set of shots, and a refreshing change from the "standard" baby shots almost every parent feels the need to get nowadays.

Good photography and artistry in the series in my opinion.

They are a fantastic set, but I think the problem is they are photographs which are appreciated by photographers. The mum probably wants pink fluffy photos, which doesn't seem to be your style

karma', I like the context in which you've shown the newborn with your photographs, they tell a story of what happened on the day. Great reportage, great photos.
I wonder if she gave you any ideas of her own about how she wants some images to look?
If she cannot explain why she isn't satisfied, then what is the point?!

I think you have done superbly well here, without a doubt!

I attended a wedding where the photographer 'didn't do formal shots'. Well he bloody well should have made the effort to produce the stock 24 shots, bride and groom, groom's family etc. as his banker and then let his 'creativity' run riot elsewhere. As it was there were 300+ rather odd photographs to choose from.

He was nowhere near as good as karmazyniello but I do wonder if karmazyniello might not have been wise to produce a dozen standard shots which would have been an easy task for such a proficient photographer and kept the Mother happy and then these excellent shots would have been a wonderful bonus for her to enjoy in the future.

I think as a whole set it works great. But as others have said, it kind of "directionless". You can just about work out what is the common subject.
I like the PPing and colours on all of them, but I find the framing on some bit odd.

Although I think the set is excellent from our (photographers) point of view, maybe from the mother's viewpoint it would appear the baby is not the central theme, it's more the actual occasion which appears to be the theme, which probably not what she was expecting.
